The Amazing Array Of Scented Candle Oils

Have you ever considered making your own scented candles? Making your own candles is really quite easy once you get the hand of it, and you can buy all of the materials you will need at craft stores or on the internet. The most exciting part of making a candle is choosing the scented candle oil. There are literally hundreds of enticing aromas to choose from, and all you have to do is find those you like best.

How To Make Them

What materials will you need if you decide to make your own candles? All you will require is some environmentally friendly soy wax, sturdy glass jars, cotton candle wicks, wax die, a candy thermometer, scented candle oil, superglue, a pan and a source of heat. All of these materials are inexpensive and easy to find.
To make your own scented soy candle begin by gluing the metal section of the candle wick to the base of the glass jar. While the glue is drying warm one pound of soy wax in your pan until it reaches a temperature of about 130 degrees and the wax has become liquid. Remove the heat and add the color wax die. Once the temperature drops below 130 degrees you can add an ounce of scented candle oil. You must be careful about how much wax die and scented candle oil you pour into the mixture, as adding too much can have an negative impact on the way the candle burns. Finally pour the entire mixture into the glass jar and allow it to dry. Once the candle is dry clip the wick, and that is all there is to it.

The Joy Of Picking The Scent

The assortment of scented candle oils is greater than most people could ever imagine. It is possible to find almost any pleasant aroma that you can think of. You could even make a scented candle that smells like frying bacon if you really wanted to. If you are making the candle for yourself then you should obviously pick an aroma that you find particularly pleasing. If the candle is a gift for another person simply ask them about some of their favorite smells.
You can buy scented candle oils in craft shops and some health food stores, but the best source is the internet because it gives you access to a greater range. The best way to add scent to a candle is to purchase essential oils which come from plants, since they don’t contain any synthetic chemicals and are therefore better for our health.
